Day Two

Today started out cloudy with some rain. Nice temperature for driving, only a high of 22 degrees. The last time we came this way was in 2008, on our way to San Diego. That day it was so windy and we had to stop for gas so often that it took us 2 1/2 hours longer than planned to get to our destination. This time was much better!

Sites along the way:
– beautiful rolling hills
– large cow at New Salem
– world’s largest metal sculpture just before Dickinson

– funny signs: Home On The Range, Cracker Box Road, Bad Route Road

We stopped to see the unique landscape of the “Painted Canyon” just before leaving North Dakota. So beautiful!

Welcome to Montana!
—>;>;>; Fun facts:
– Its illegal for unmarried women to fish alone in Montana
– Montana is the fourth largest state with the forty-fourth largest population.

The first time I saw mountains, that were not desert mountains, was when we came through Montana in 2008. Ever since then, I’ve been smitten! They are so majestic and amazing that you just are in awe of the creation of God!

4 In whose hand are the depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
5 The sea is His, for it was He who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
Psalms 95:4-5

I love mountains!!!

We had Famous Dave’s for dinner tonight… YUM! When the server brought us our drinks, one of them had the “Dr Pepper” logo on it. Well, needless to say that Kelly was drooling over it! He was able to talk to the manager who said that even though they don’t sell them, if we give our server a good tip, we could have two of them 🙂
