We had a quick drive this morning, 2 1/2 hours from Seattle to Port Angeles to the ferry terminal and a 1 1/2 hour ride on the ferry. Driving up the Olympic Peninsula was incredible! There was forest on either side nearly the whole way. It was so dense that you could barely tell where one tree began and another ended. It was raining most of the way so no real opportunities for photos.
We arrived at the ferry with time to spare so we wandered around a bit. The ocean was beautiful! It was a very windy day which made for a very rocky ride to Victoria.
This is Port Angeles from the ferry with the Olympic Mountains in the background.
Here’s one of the first shots of the island.
We arrived at our B&B at the exact same time as the friends who were joining us. We unloaded the bags, took a quick peek around and headed out. Decided to walk to the Fisherman’s Wharf for some food and tour around. It’s a really neat place to see, love the houseboats and the cute Harbour Taxi.
From there we walked around the James Bay area and headed for the Inner Harbour. I kept repeating over and over… “I can’t believe we’re here!”.
Can’t wait for another day of exploring tomorrow! Good night!
