Day Eight, Nine and Ten

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay, it’s been an interesting few days. Friday we had a rainy day so that kept us indoors. We went to the local shopping mall and then parked along Dallas Road and watched the rain.

We had dinner with a fun young couple from Germany that we met at the B&B. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of them!

That evening I started getting sick 😦 and woke up Saturday morning feeling horrible. But, I bought some cold medication and pushed on! We drove to Sidney in the afternoon to see what the little town was like, then took our friends to the airport.

After returning from the airport we went on a hunt and found these:

This is Hatley Castle, the set for X-Men’s Professor X’s School for the Gifted. What a beautiful building!

This is the Fisgard Lighthouse. A local landmark and Historical Site.

We then enjoyed a dinner out at a local Mexican restaurant and returned to the B&B for our last night.

This morning it was so hard to say goodbye to Vancouver Island. With our condo still up for sale we don’t know when we will be returning.

I’m still sick with a cold so it’s been difficult to enjoy the sight-seeing that we did today. We took the ferry from the island to Vancouver, a much calmer and beautiful ride than we had on Monday!

We then drove up to Kamloops on the Coquihalla Highway.

As I’m writing this, I’m looking out the window of our hotel to this view.

Due to mudslides along the Trans Canada between Kamloops and Revelstoke, our destination tomorrow is still undecided. We have reservations at a hotel in Canmore, but if the road is not open by tomorrow morning, we won’t be there!

  1. Beautiful pictures! Hope your feeling better and we’re praying for safe travels the rest of the days! Too bad you had to get sick on your vacation. Love you, Mom and Dad
